The CORAnet® technology is HIPAA compliant. Medical data are transferred by CORAnet® from the EHR sources to the mobile device secured with 256-bit encryption while also requiring the use of username and password and/or fingerprint biometric to access the data.
Notably, CORAnet® does not store medical data in its servers that are resident in the Amazon cloud so there is no danger of breach of privacy of data.
With the implementation of the 2023 HIPAA Rule, patients are granted the right to inspect their Protected Health Information (PHI) in person and even take notes or photographs for their records. At CORAnet®, we not only comply with this requirement, but we go above and beyond to facilitate and enhance this process through our cutting-edge Personal Health Information Exchange (PHIE) platform.

Recognizing the importance of timely access to PHI, we have embraced the 2023 HIPAA Rule's shortened timeline. With CORAnet® PHIE, patients can expect their requested access to be provided within 24 hours should there be updates in the EHRs, rather than the previous 30-day timeframe.
